New
Roads and Expansions
West
Park Toll Road
Almost no other event has had such an affect on the
growth of the western portion of Ft. Bend County as
that of the Westpark Toll Road. No stop lights and
not even a tollbooth. This single event is dramatically
transforming the west side of Ft. Bend County and
will continue to do so long into the future.
Consider;
residents in Fulshear have about the same commute
time to the Galleria and Downtown as those living
in the west Memorial area near Eldridge and Westheimer.
Long
regarded as some of the most beautiful and desirable
property in the Houston area, the western portion
of Ft. Bend County has only lacked convenient access.
Homeowners are now able to escape the city and enjoy
the benefits of small town living and yet be minutes
from Uptown and Downtown because of the Westpark Toll
Road.
Obviously,
the desirability of extraordinary property coupled
with easy access and convenience to everything a family
demands will continue to have a positive effect on
real estate values.

Commuter
Rail: The Westpark Toll Road incorporated
commuter rail within its right-of-way. Fulshear City
officials and Metro are working together to bring
such light rail to Fulshear…possibly within
the next 5-years.
Westpark
Toll Road To Be Extended & FM1093 To Be Widened
The
success of the Westpark Toll Road is resulting in
plans to extend the toll road further west of the
Grand Parkway to the City limits of Fulshear. In addition
to the extension of the Westpark Toll Road, the Texas
Department of Transportation is planning on widening
FM1093 to four lanes from the Grand Parkway west to
Fulshear. In 2009, the intersection in Fulshear is
expected to be straightened.
FM723
which runs north from Rosenberg, has been extended
north past FM1093. This new 4-lane Parkway is named
Spring Green and runs through Cinco Ranch. This will
eventually connect Rosenberg with I-10 and will become
an important north-south corridor.
Fry
Road, too, has been extended west past Spring
Green and now intersects with FM1463 near Fulshear.
Highway
36
• From the south, Hwy 36 is being widened and
will extend from Freeport to Rosenberg. Then, the
new plans call for Hwy 36-A Spur-10 that will stretch
from Rosenberg north to FM1093 through Trendmaker’s
Cross Creek development in Fulshear and then to I-10,
and finally on to Woods Rd.
• Towards the west, plans are to widen Hwy 36
from Rosenberg to Sealy
Katy Freeway Expansion Project
The massive widening project for I-10 is one of the
largest freeway projects in the history of the Houston
area. It will also have one of the most profound effects
on the city as it tugs the geographic center westward.
The impact will be tremendous for the entire city,
but for those living in the northwest portion of Fort
Bend County, it will be dramatic.
