Swarts Engineering has been involved in Industrial Engineering and Rehabilitation work since 1973. We offer consulting, education and training services based on our knowledge and broad experience with a wide variety of clients. We
also have more than 25 years experience designing accessibility modifications
for people with disabilities for both public and private organizations.
Our expertise covers operations in manufacturing, distribution, service
and the field of rehabilitation for the disabled.
Our
customers include: Auburn University, Baker Service Tools; Contemporary
Arts Museum of Houston, Entex, Hoechst Celanese, Simson Rehab Management,
Texas Industries for Blind and Handicapped, Texas Rehabilitation Commission,
Western Geophysical Exploration, and numerous plants in the meat packing
industry.
Our
founder, Albert E. Swarts, is a Registered Professional Engineer who
is dedicated to the principle that engineering should serve humanity.
He has degrees in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University,
and is a registered Professional Engineer in Missouri and Texas.
His
engineering experience includes missile testing at White Sands Missile
Range in New Mexico, project engineer for a cement plant in Missouri,
and production engineer for a rehabilitation shop in Texas. As a production
engineer, he honed his Industrial Engineering skills in work design,
ergonomics and work measurement for production standards.
An
accomplished teacher, Mr. Swarts has instructed undergraduate and graduate
courses at the University of Houston’s Cullen College of Engineering.
He is also active in professional circles, having served as vice-president
of the Engineers Council of Houston, president of the Sam Houston Chapter
of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and District Director
for the Institute of Industrial Engineers covering three states.
Albert
is an active proponent in the use of predetermined time systems for
production standards. First a practitioner of Master Standard Data and
then MODAPTS, he is a certified
instructor of MODAPTS and a founding director of the International
MODAPTS Association.
